Students begin by building a solid grounding in programming, problem-solving, networking, web technology, data management, systems analysis, and human-computer interaction before specialising in the principles and practices that underpin professional software development at scale. Throughout the major, students work on real-world projects alongside industry professionals, developing both the technical skills and the professional readiness employers are looking for. Accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at the Professional level, graduates are well-positioned for careers as software engineers, software developers, full stack developers, systems analysts, application developers, and test engineers across virtually every sector of the economy.

The Global Year 1 program, a UK Higher National Certificate, is designed for students who want to accelerate their undergraduate education, saving time and money while building a solid academic base for an international degree. The program allows students to complete up to one year of their undergraduate degree remotely from home and then progress to an overseas campus to complete the remainder of their degree.

After the completion of the Smart Program, students progress to the University of Wollongong to study the remaining core and elective courses on campus and complete their degrees.
