Eligibility for JN Tata Endowment Scholarship

• Age: You are not more than 45 years old as of 30th June 2025.
• Academic Record: You have at least 60% marks in your undergraduate or postgraduate studies from a recognised Indian university.
• Course Admission: You have an admission offer (or are in the process of getting one) from a recognised overseas university for a postgraduate, PhD or postdoctoral program.
• Guarantor: You need to have a guarantor (someone who will repay the loan if you cannot).
• Current Students: If you are already studying abroad, you can apply if you have at least one full academic year left in your course at the time of the award.

Documents Required for JN Tata Endowment Scholarship

When you fill out the JN Tata Endowment Scholarship application form, you’ll need to upload several important documents:

• Recent passport-size photograph (500×500 pixels, JPEG format)
• Aadhaar card and passport (scanned copies)
• Mark sheets and degree certificates (final year and previous years)
• Admission letter from the overseas university
• Statement of Purpose (SOP)
• Standardised test scores (GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc., if applicable)
• Work experience certificates (if you have worked)
• Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) or salary slips (if applicable)
• Certificates for scholarships, prizes, or extracurricular activities
• Research or project work certificates (if any)
• Resume (CV)
• Estimated cost of education and source of funds
• Letter of Recommendation (LOR) addressed to “The Trustees of the J N Tata Endowment”, from a professor or employer

The Endowment will contact your recommender directly for the LOR. You must also have a guarantor, and after selection, you’ll need to provide their documents (PAN card, Aadhaar, income proof, etc)

Application Process For JN Tata Endowment Scholarship

Here’s how to apply for the JN Tata Endowment Scholarship 2025-26:

1. Online Registration: Go to the official website (jntataendowment.org) and register.
2. Fill Application Form: Fill the JN Tata Endowment Scholarship application form and upload all documents.
3. Note the Deadline: Registrations were open till 21st March 2025, and the last date to submit the application form was 23rd March 2025.
4. Aptitude Test: Shortlisted applicants were asked to take an online aptitude test to check their analytical and reasoning skills. The test happened on 4th May 2025.
5. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed online by a subject expert and a representative from the Endowment. The interview is very important and carries the most weight in the selection process. Interviews will be held between April and June 2025.
6. Final Selection: If selected, you will get an email by mid-July 2025. You need to formally accept the loan scholarship and complete further documentation, including details from your guarantor.

Post-Selection Procedures

After you’re selected, here’s what happens next:

• You need to accept the scholarship and upload more documents (your and your guarantor’s PAN, Aadhaar, bank details, income proof, etc.).
• Once you get your visa and flight ticket, you need to update these details on the portal.
• You and your guarantor need to visit the Endowment’s office (or do an online appointment) to sign the loan agreement.
• You need to repay the loan in 5 equal instalments between the 3rd and 7th year after you complete your course, with 2% interest.
