What is PTE?

The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-based exam that evaluates a person’s proficiency in English. The test lasts two hours and takes place in a single session at a designated exam center.

While getting a good score is important, the PTE Score Chart provides more than just numbers. It gives detailed information about the specific English language skills assessed in each section of the test. This insight allows students to focus their preparation on the areas they need to improve.

What is a PTE Score Chart?

The PTE score chart combines and averages the skills assessed in the PTE Academic exam. It provides two types of scores: an overall score and separate scores for each communicative skill, i.e. listening, reading, speaking and writing.

  • Overall score: The overall score ranges from 10 to 90 points. It is calculated based on your performance across the entire exam. Note that it is not calculated as an average of the individual skill scores.
  • Communicative skill score: The communicative skill score shows your performance in listening, reading, speaking, and writing separately. Each of these four skills is scored on a range from 10 to 90 points.
