La Trobe University’s Bachelor of Information Technology is specifically designed to equip you with the necessary skills to shape our digital future. The program covers various areas including programming, networking, databases, systems analysis and design, and project management. Additionally, you have the option to specialise in artificial intelligence, cloud analytics, cybersecurity, network engineering, or information systems, which align with future industry growth. Furthermore, you can expand your knowledge and abilities through a diverse range of elective courses. These electives allow you to combine your core IT skills with subjects from business, social sciences, humanities, web engineering, computer technology, security, and information systems analysis. Another exciting opportunity is the chance to develop your own software program and present it at the annual Engineering and IT Showcase, where potential employers may be in attendance.
In the artificial intelligence major, you will explore the fundamental principles of AI and gain valuable expertise in AI algorithms, deep learning, machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing.
The UniSmarter is created in partnership with Navitas. The program develops a solid foundation for overseas studies by accustoming students to the university’s academic standards. The program takes place over 4 months during which they study 3 or 4 modules or equivalent to 1 term of undergraduate studies. With our student-friendly curriculum and award-winning 1-1 tutor program, students will be well on their way to their dream destination.

After the completion of the Smart Program, students progress to La Trobe University via La Trobe College to study the remaining core and elective courses on campus and complete the degree.
