The degree program recognizes the significant role that sports play in society. Sports encompass various aspects, from local clubs that foster community bonds to revered professional athletes who are idolised by many. In today’s world, sports have become a thriving industry, with major brands being created, promoted, and consumed. By applying marketing and management skills to the sports sector, teams, events, and companies can flourish and achieve success. The field of Sports Marketing and Management delves into the inner workings of the sports industry, examining the dynamics between businesses and consumers, the leadership and promotion of sporting careers, and the organisation and growth of sports-related enterprises.
The program begins with a foundation year that covers essential business disciplines, providing a comprehensive understanding of contemporary organisational challenges. Starting from the second year, students specialise in Sports Marketing and Management, acquiring the necessary expertise to comprehend the business aspects of sports and excel in careers such as sports administration, sports leadership and management, and sports marketing and public relations. In the final year, students participate in a capstone project, collaborating with peers from different fields to showcase their accumulated knowledge. Additionally, students have the opportunity to gain practical professional experience through an internship as part of their degree.

The Global Online Accelerator Program is designed for students who want to accelerate their undergraduate education, saving time and money while building a solid academic base in Australia, Singapore or the UK. The program allows students to complete up to a term of their undergraduate degree remotely from home and then progress to campus to complete the remainder of their degree. In order to advance to UOW College via University of Wollongong students must achieve an overall Pass in all modules of the Global Online Accelerator Program. Students will study the following 4 modules with The WorldGrad.

2. WGBU160 - Economic Essentials for Business
3. WGBU130 - Introduction to Management
4. WGBU101 - Marketing Principles
After the completion of the Smart Program, students progress to the University of Wollongong via UOW College to study the remaining core and elective courses on campus and complete the degree.
