The degree in Computer Science focuses on the underlying principles and practical methods related to computation and its practical applications. Computer scientists are involved in designing tools, developing programs, and creating computer applications for various fields. These fields encompass a wide range of areas, including controlling machinery through computer systems, managing information and big data, developing applications for mobile devices, analysing stock market trends, designing games, visualising chemical reactions, creating neural networks, employing computational geometry for robot navigation, monitoring patients in hospitals, and much more. Upon entering the program, you will initially study a core set of subjects that establish a connection between computer science, information technology (IT), and information systems.
During this phase, you will explore the fundamentals of computer science and IT, such as programming, problem-solving, network and communications, web technology, data management, system analysis, human-computer interaction, and project management. In your second year, you will have the opportunity to choose a major that aligns with your strengths and interests. Additionally, a final-year capstone team project will be completed as part of your studies. Furthermore, you have the option to pursue a double degree in conjunction with Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Creative Arts, or Business. These dual degree programs will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of technology, utilising various industry products from companies like Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, SAP, and Cisco.

The Global Online Accelerator Program is designed for students who want to accelerate their undergraduate education, saving time and money while building a solid academic base in Australia, Singapore or the UK. The program allows students to complete up to a term of their undergraduate degree remotely from home and then progress to campus to complete the remainder of their degree. In order to advance to UOW College via University of Wollongong students must achieve an overall Pass in all modules of the Global Online Accelerator Program. Students will study the following 4 modules with The WorldGrad.
1. WGIT128 - Introduction to Web Technology
2. WGIT127 - Networks and Communications
3. WGIT111 - Programming Fundamentals
4. WGIT114 - System Analysis
After the completion of the Smart Program, students progress to the University of Wollongong via UOW College to study the remaining core and elective courses on campus and complete the degree.
