The Finance and Investment BSc program at DMU offers a rigorous academic approach to finance, emphasizing practical skills and employability. It equips students with advanced technical expertise, knowledge, and a professional mindset required to succeed in the financial industry. The course is affiliated with the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) program, preparing students for the CFA exams, which are highly respected qualifications in finance and investment. The curriculum explores the interconnected disciplines of accounting and economics, providing a comprehensive understanding of finance. This program is well-suited for individuals interested in a mathematical approach, with a focus on quantitative data. Teaching integrates industry-standard commercial databases and software, including Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters Eikon, Matlab, and Python, to bridge theory and practice in finance. Exciting modules introduce innovative methodologies like Artificial Intelligence and Financial Applications, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in using, evaluating, and even creating their own AI applications to solve real-world problems.
The Global Year 1 is created in partnership with Pearson. The program develops a solid foundation for overseas studies by accustoming students to the university’s academic standards. The program takes place over 8 months which means students can finish their studies faster than the traditional one year. With our student-friendly curriculum and award-winning 1-1 tutor program, students will be well on their way to their dream destination. The program also gives students an opportunity to be a part of the global workforce by completing an 8-week remote internship as well as a ‘Professional Development and Career Readiness’ course run in collaboration with Virtual Internships. The credits for the program are offered by Pearson.
After the completion of the Smart Program, students progress to De Montfort University to study the remaining core and elective courses on campus and complete their degrees. All students who complete the degree successfully, qualify for post-study work rights. Further information on the On-Campus program structure and courses are available with our Admissions Team.
