Computer Science is a complex and wide-ranging subject and includes the study of computation theory the design of systems and artificial intelligence. On this broad-based course you focus on the essential areas and build your practical skills before taking on a specialism and graduating into a rewarding career in your chosen field.
The course shares its first year with our other related BSc degrees to give you a foundation in the subject while providing a platform for specialist study in the second and third years. You concentrate on essential areas such as systems architecture and security while acquiring practical skills in programming modelling and software development. You then focus on a chosen specialist area for your final stage project.
The Global Year 1 is created in partnership with Pearson. The program develops a solid foundation for overseas studies by accustoming students to the university’s academic standards. The program takes place over 8 months which means students can finish their studies faster than the traditional one year. With our student-friendly curriculum and award-winning 1-1 tutor program, students will be well on their way to their dream destination. The program also gives students an opportunity to be a part of the global workforce by completing an 8-week remote internship as well as a ‘Professional Development and Career Readiness’ course run in collaboration with Virtual Internships. The credits for the program are offered by Pearson.
After the completion of the Smart Program, students progress to the University of Bedfordshire to study the remaining core and elective courses on campus and complete their degrees. All students who complete the degree successfully, qualify for post-study work rights. Further information on the On-Campus program structure and courses are available with our Admissions Team.
