The BSc (Hons) Cyber Security program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of IT security, including hacking, forensics, and the evolving technologies related to this rapidly changing field. Aligned with the research expertise of our computing department, this course goes beyond theory and offers a practical experience through real-life projects in the second and third years, preparing students for employment in the industry. Students are given opportunities to build and configure computer and network systems, as well as the necessary support systems, to effectively work in various professional environments. The program also covers the challenges associated with managing such systems, particularly network security. By combining elements of computer science, computer programming, network technologies, and software development with a focus on cyber security, this degree equips students with the knowledge and skills to adapt and excel in the field. Practical tasks are employed to facilitate learning, ensuring students become versatile and well-informed professionals in the cyber security domain.
The Global Year 1 is created in partnership with Pearson. The program develops a solid foundation for overseas studies by accustoming students to the university’s academic standards. The program takes place over 8 months which means students can finish their studies faster than the traditional one year. With our student-friendly curriculum and award-winning 1-1 tutor program, students will be well on their way to their dream destination. The program also gives students an opportunity to be a part of the global workforce by completing an 8-week remote internship as well as a ‘Professional Development and Career Readiness’ course run in collaboration with Virtual Internships. The credits for the program are offered by Pearson.
After the completion of the Smart Program, students progress to Wrexham University to study the remaining core and elective courses on campus and complete their degrees. All students who complete the degree successfully, qualify for post-study work rights. Further information on the On-Campus program structure and courses are available with our Admissions Team.
