With this degree, despite the ancient origins of recording business and financial transactions, the field of accounting has evolved significantly over time. It is a profession that constantly undergoes changes in theories, regulations, and practices. Students gain both technical accounting knowledge and analytical and managerial skills necessary to address complex business matters. They are well-prepared to excel in both the public and private sectors. The accounting profession can be broadly categorised into financial accounting, which involves the preparation and use of accounting information for external reporting, and managerial accounting, which pertains to the utilisation of accounting information to assess managerial performance and develop plans and controls within an organisation.
