With this major, economics encompasses much more than just bankers, traders, and financiers. It is a social science that delves into human behaviour in the face of scarcity, a reality we all confront daily. Our resources and time are limited, and economics seeks to comprehend how this influences our actions and choices. Therefore, economics combines elements of philosophy, exploring the reasons behind human behaviour, with aspects of statistics and finance. This interdisciplinary field is particularly well-suited for a liberal arts environment. Whether you aim to grasp the impact of globalisation, analyse the manipulation of individual biases, or investigate potential causes of future economic downturns, economics caters to a diverse range of intellectual interests.
