LINC Education infuses $1M into The WorldGrad- A Study Abroad Platform for Indians

The WorldGrad offers a unique environment for Indian students to pursue their global education by starting the first semester online before moving overseas for completion.
Technology assisted academic support platform LINC Education commits $1M for its new edtech wing The WorldGrad. The WorldGrad offers a unique environment for Indian students to pursue their global education by starting the first semester online before moving overseas for completion. The WorldGrad has partnered with multiple top-ranked institutions such as The University of Wollongong College, Australia and helps students pursue over 100 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees through this model.
LINC Education has been active in online higher education since 2017. The company has been recognised and awarded for their unique approach to personalise online learning and improve retention and completion rates for their partner universities. The systematic investment into The WorldGrad is a move to streamline the unorganized study abroad market and further strengthen LINC’s reach in the edtech domain. The WorldGrad eyes raising investment in the near future after achieving steady traction.
Commenting on the steady infusion of funds from undisclosed partners, Co-Founder Abhinav Mital said “The WorldGrad is an extension of LINC, and it particularly solves the challenges for Indian students to have access to easy global education, without the burden of extreme financing. In this regard, we will continue to improvise the platform with steady funding in place.”
2,61,406 Indians went abroad for studies in the year 2020 as compared to 5,88,931 in 2019, according to government data. However, in a recent 2021 Prospective Students Survey conducted by GMAC – Graduate Management Education Council, 76% of Indian respondents said they weren’t changing their plans on account of the pandemic and want to travel abroad to study. With vaccines coming the sentiment to study abroad has tilted back to the original.
