SUNY Oswego Scholarships for International Students
SUNY Oswego offers three scholarships for international students. These scholarship details are given below:
Go Oswego International Scholarship
The Go Oswego Award offers $2,000 per semester to full-time out-of-state or international students, renewable for up to 8 semesters. This scholarship is available to students who choose to live on campus.
Transfer Merit Scholarship
This scholarship offers $500 per semester for transfer students with a 3.00–3.49 GPA, renewable for 6 semesters.
Transfer Achievement Scholarship
This scholarship offers $750 per semester for transfer students with a 3.50+ GPA, renewable for 6 semesters.

Admissions Requirements at SUNY Oswego

- Freshmen applicants: Submit your secondary school transcripts.
- Transfer applicants: Submit both secondary school and college/university transcripts.
If applicable, include a certified translation of your transcripts.
3. Submit English Proficiency Scores: Send your English proficiency test scores to isss@oswego.edu.
Students who need additional English preparation will be guided accordingly. Applicants who score below the minimum must take intensive English courses on campus before admission.
4. Provide Financial Documentation. Email proof of financial resources to isss@oswego.edu.
- A bank statement, signed and stamped by a bank official. It must show enough funds to cover your first-year expenses, minus any scholarships.
- If a sponsor (e.g., a parent) is funding your education, include a completed SUNY International Student Financial Statement, signed and stamped by your sponsor’s bank and your sponsor.
If you’ve had a gap in your education longer than a typical break between academic years, submit a GAP Statement explaining the gap.
5. Check Your Application Status: After applying, you’ll get a confirmation email. It will have a temporary PIN to access the Application Portal and set your password. Use the portal to:
- Track the status of your application.
- Check what documents have been received or are still needed.
- Respond to supplemental requests.
- Visit the portal regularly to stay updated!
